On this windy, wintery morning…..here are the 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. W ind, Snow, Closings and Road Conditions lead the list of the 5 things you need to know today.  Fallen trees, power outages, rough driving conditions – all making for a challenging start to the day.  I would say if you can put off leaving the house for a few hours or even work from home, that might be best so plows like Edgar Allen Plow, Plower Bunga and Snowbi One Kenobi can do their jobs.

2. Falling plane parts equals falling stock prices.  Boeing saw its stock drop 8% yesterday amid fallout from Friday’s near-tragic incident outside Portland, Oregon, where a piece of one of its planes flew off midascent, and the cabin depressurized. The incident prompted US officials to temporarily ground and inspect 171 737 Max 9 aircraft

3. If you see white smoke coming from Wichita City Hall this morning – It means we have a new Mayor.  Mayor Lily Wu was sworn in yesterday.  She is encouraging Wichitans to work as a team, attend city council meetings and get involved.

4. HAIL TO THE VICTORS! Top-ranked Michigan won the College Football Playoff National Championship last night, dropping the No. 2 Washington Huskies by a score of 34-13. The win marks the program’s 10th title, its first since splitting with Nebraska in 1997, and its second since 1948. The biggest side story was the repitition of the Lume feminine deodorant commercial. As you can imagine, social media had a hot take.

5. and it’s one of the most coveted jobs in this country – and it can be yours.  If you’ve ever dreamed of getting your hand around the wienermobile steering wheel, now is your chance. Oscar Mayer wants to hire a dozen “Hotdoggers,” for year-long full-time jobs driving its iconic 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels.  Frankly, you’ll travel an average of 20,000 miles, visit almost 2 dozen states, handing out lots of wiener whistles and creating content.  If you don’t have a beef with any of this and relish the opportunity, get your buns to the Oscar Meyer website before the 31st to apply.  It’s not a lengthy application, only about a foot-long. okay…I’ll stop
