Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute, honors CDR Shaina M. Hogan. Shaina is the daughter of a Navy Sailor, and a native of Wichita, Kansas. She commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer from the United States Naval Academy in 2005 with a degree in Information Technology. As a SWO, she served on USS ANTIETAM (CG 54) as the Strike Officer, where she completed two WESTPAC deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. She was later stationed in Naples, Italy after which she earned her Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
