Newton officials say the victim of a December 15th shooting incident has died at a Wichita hospital.
Police said 74-year-0ld Peggy Sue Altum died over the weekend. Officers found her at a home in the 2000 block of Terrace Drive after a report of a domestic disturbance. A 70-year-old man called police to say he had shot his wife, and he was taken into custody.
The investigation is continuing in the case, and the preliminary charge against the suspect has been changed to first degree murder.
