Police in Newton have arrested a 70-year-old man for a domestic violence shooting incident that happened early Friday.
Police were called to the 2000 block of Terrace Drive around 1:45 a.m. A man at the house reported that his wife had been shot and he refused to answer any questions.
A 74-year-old woman was taken to a Wichita hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
The husband was arrested and booked into the Harvey County jail for attempted murder, and police said a gun was recovered at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
