UPDATE:  The Sisters-Herndon Veterinary Clinic in Wichita said in a post on social media that its co-owner, Dr. Monica Moore, was killed in a crash in Butler County late Sunday afternoon.

The Facebook post said,  “… we were informed of a tragic car accident that involved our beloved Dr. Monica Moore and her daughter. Unfortunately with the severity of the accident both passed. We ask at this time for your patience and understanding while we navigate through these next few days. We will be closing Tuesday and Wednesday this week as we figure out how to move forward. We ask that you keep us in your prayers and thoughts as well as the Moore family. We will continue to update you as information arrives.”     The clinic’s website said Dr. Moore and her sister, Dr. April Horn, purchased the clinic in 2017.

The crash was reported around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.  The Kansas Highway Patrol said an SUV traveling west on Southwest 150th collided with another SUV at Santa Fe Lake Road.  The westbound vehicle ended up in a ditch and the driver, a 30-year-old woman from El Dorado, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.   The second SUV was driven by Dr. Moore, 46, with her 16-year-old daughter Madison as passenger.   Their car rolled over and came to rest against a tree, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Butler County residents were planning to talk to county commissioners Tuesday about safety concerns at the intersection.
