Heavy snow fell for much of the day Saturday across central and south central Kansas, with snowfall amounts ranging from 4 to over 9 inches.
Moderate to heavy snow was falling across the Wichita area and low visibility was reported in many areas. There were a number of accidents and slide-offs and Wichita police put the Emergency Accident Reporting Plan into effect through the evening.
Snowfall reports as of noon Sunday had Kingman with 10.8 inches, the Hutchinson area with 12 inches, Wichita with 7.8 inches, while Marion had 14.1 inches and Hesston reported 12.7 inches.
