Greater Wichita YMCA officials will have a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for a new athletic fields complex in northwest Wichita.
The Northwest YMCA is building facilities to increase capacity and convenience for sports families. This will begin construction on Phase I of the project, which consists of two turf fields, staff offices and other site structures, along with restrooms, a playground, four pickleball courts and a parking area.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in a field directly across from the Northwest YMCA at 13,838 West 21st Street North.
