Power was cut early Monday for some stores at a Wichita shopping mall because of the owner’s failure to pay the electric bill.
Towne West Square has faced several threats of disconnection over the past year after failing to pay the bill from Evergy.
Larger stores at the mall have separate accounts that are in good standing, so those stores still have power. Evergy officials said Kohan Retail Investment Group, which owns Towne West, is again delinquent on the electric bill for the mall.
The power was restored late Monday afternoon and the outage for the affected stores lasted about six hours.
