November has arrived and many men and women will put there razors away for “No-Shave November”. Ever wonder how this tradition got its start?
“No-Shave November” – aka- “Movember” – began in 2003 when Australians Travis Garone and Luke Slattery decided to turn their attempt to grow mustaches into a fundraiser for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. They raised over $40,000 that year. More importantly, the started a global movement.
The rules are simple: don’t shave and let your facial and body hair grow free for an entire month. Donating to charities is encouraged. Here is a link to the MOVEMBER U.S. home page if you want to learn more or donate.
I have a mustache already, but the beard just won’t come in. So, I’ll be shavin’. Do you plan to participate? You still have plenty of time. Good luck!
