Garden City police said one person was arrested after a report of an intruder on the campus of Garden City Community College Thursday morning.
Police said there was a report of a possible armed intruder in the Saffell Library. As law enforcement responded, college staff and students evacuated or took shelter-in-place measures.
The campus was cleared and police said there were no threats to students or staff, but one person was arrested for aggravated criminal threat. There were no injuries during the incident. After the investigation, the college ended its lockdown and classes were dismissed for the day, and regular operations will resume at 8 a.m. Friday.
As a precaution, public schools in Garden City were placed in a lockout status during the incident, with no one allowed inside or outside the buildings.
