5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. The war between Israel and Hamas has proven that just when you think things can’t get worse for the innocent people on both sides of this conflict, it can.  Yesterday, hundreds were killed when a Gaza hospital was bombed and now both sides are playing the blame game and pointing fingers.

Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R, OH-4) came up short yesterday in securing enough votes on the first ballot to become the speaker of the House. Jordan was nominated last week. In the first round, 20 Republicans voted for a different candidate, all 212 Democrats support House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D, NY-8)

3. As stories of edibles and other drugs making their way into USD 259 schools make the news, the school system is now reminding parents about the importance of talking to your kids about drugs and also, if you have edibles or other drugs in your house, make sure the kids can’t get their hands on them.

4. Looks like Alec Baldwin is headed back to court. New Mexico prosecutors plan to bring involuntary manslaughter charges against Alec Baldwin before a grand jury in the 2021 “Rust” shooting case.
