Kansas Preparedness Day was observed Monday at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson with special displays and other activities.
Governor Laura Kelly signed a proclamation designating September as Kansas Preparedness Month, and the Division of Emergency Management is calling on residents to be ready for natural and man-made disasters.
Displays of emergency vehicles were set up near the Administration Building on the state fairgrounds, and there were also information tables with preparedness and public safety information. A number of state and local agencies are participating in the event.
The Kansas State Fair continues through Sunday, September 17th.
