Wichita and Sedgwick County firefighters were battling hot temperatures along with smoke and flames when a fire broke out Sunday afternoon in a barn near Garden Plain.
The fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. near 4th Street North and 275th Street West. Crews reported a barn measuring 100 feet by 200 feet was fully involved in flames.
Wichita and Cheney fire crews were called to the scene. They had to fight the fire from outside the barn, going into a defensive position. Crews had to set up a porta-tank to provide water at the scene.
There were no reports of injuries.
