Police in Bryan, Texas have arrested four men in connection with a burglary of an ATM in Wichita.

According to a probable cause statement from Bryan police, officers stopped an SUV on July 25th as part of an investigation into a series of ATM thefts in the Houston area, involving people who have rented vehicles and driven them to other states to commit ATM thefts and then return to Houston.  The investigation found a Jeep Cherokee that was detected by a license plate reading system in Wichita.

Police in Wichita said a stolen pickup was used in the robbery of an ATM at a Union State Bank location, where a hook and chain attached to the pickup was used to break open the ATM.   An estimated $21,000 was taken in the theft.   The Jeep Cherokee was tracked in Texas and Bryan police officers stopped it and took four men in their 20s into custody.
