We’ve all been there.  We go see out favorite artist and it never fails, they don’t play the one song you were hoping to hear. You feel a little upset, but do you get angry?  Some fans did when Eric Church did a set at CMA Fest

Eric Church Says He Was Shocked by Fans Angry Over His CMA Fest Set Eric Church says he was “shocked” at the fan reaction after her CMA Fest set.  “I was shocked because I played the show that I went out there to play,” he tells Rolling Stone.

“We had a time so, and I went out there to play that slot and try to show a little bit, a peek, as to what I was working on for this tour. I’m not going to [reveal] everything, but I’m going to give a little peek of what this could be. And there were a couple of production things that I was not responsible for — when the lights went up [at the end of the set], that wasn’t me. But for what I went to do, it was fast and hard. And the shows are that way,” said Church. Fans were less than thrilled with Church’s performance and felt his rearrangements of “Drink in My Hand” and “Cold One,” along with a cover of the Little Feat cocaine anthem “Sailin’ Shoes,” wasn’t what they were expecting.

Church said of his upcoming tour, “If you’re coming to hear ‘Talladega’ and ‘Record Year,’ you ain’t gonna hear them. There are a ton of songs people are leaving going, ‘He didn’t play his hits.’ And, no, we didn’t.”

It begs the question, if you were buying tickets to a show to see you favorite artist and they told you ahead of time, “don’t expect the hits” – would you go?
