The Hutchinson Police Department are investigating a series of unsanctioned fights, resulting in several Battery cases.

Authorities are reaching out to the public in an effort to stop the planned fights and spontaneous violence stemming from them.

Police report responding to several cases of battery over the last few weeks through a private Instagram group called “hk.street.beefs.” Through the group, fights are set up at public as well as private locations in and around the city. Authorities said that most of the participants and followers are juveniles or young adults in their late teens.

According to police, fights are scheduled and admission is charged at the private locations, but then fights that are not scheduled break out, which is often recorded on a cell phone.

The Hutchinson Police Department issued a warning that anyone caught participating in or recording the violence will face charges. They’re warning parents to ensure their kids are not participating in these events.
