Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors WWII Navy Veteran Pat Rudd.  Pat’s reason for joining the military was because she missed her brother. So she joined Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), making her one of the first 200 women to deploy. While she was in the military, she played a key role in teaching sailors to read and write and also worked in the hospital. Pat was also able to aid sailors in communicating with family back home while they were away at sea. Thank you for the important role you played Pat and THANK YOU for your service.
