As you wake up this morning, sleepy from lack of sleep from the fireworks and thunderstorms, then allow me to do you a solid and let you know the things you need to know before you head out the door.

Another day in American and another story of gun violence. Sadly, Philadelphia is trying to makes sense of the mass shooting that took the lives of 5 including a man who just left his house to walk to the corner store.

As July gets underway, you may not be aware the the new laws that just went into effect.  Gender, food are at the center of a couple of the new law but here are a couple of highlights.  Fentanyl strips have been decriminalized in a moved to better help those struggling with addiction and in turn hopefully ensure their safety from this dangerous and incredibly addictive drug.  Legislators and the governor agreed the state should limit how much public utility companies could recover through rate increases when making investments in new electricity transmission lines. Finally, the $100 fee paid to the attorney general’s office to obtain a concealed weapon license in Kansas was eliminated, but left in place a charge of $32.50 payable to a county sheriff’s department. Individuals as young as 18 can receive a permit to carry a concealed handgun.

Meta (a.k.a. Facebook and Instagram), smell Twitter blood in the water and are set to release their option called “Threads”.  You can pre-order the app today ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled release.

and the “Gastronimical G.O.A.T” – Joey Chestnut saved the 4th of July.  Severe weather caused an initial cancellation of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, but Joey said “Not today Satan”. He took to social media, rallied that other contestants and they bellied up to the table to take on the stack of dogs.  After making sure the competition went on, Joey then dominated the feeding frenzy, downing 62 hot dogs to once again win the belt.  In this case, Joey Chestnut > than Captain America.  I said what I said.
