Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors former radio host, actor, comedian Peter Cullen and his brother Larry.  As the latest Transformers movie takes over the theaters this weekend, it should be noted that Peter is the voice of the leader of the Autobots – Optimus Prime – a character that may never have come to life if not for his Marine brother Larry.  Peter says, he told his brother Larry about the audition and that the character he was playing was a good guy and Larry said, “If you are going to be a leader. Be sincere, be honest, be respectful….be strong enough to be gentle. Peter says the voice that came out when he said, “My name is Optimus Prime” was all Larry, all Marine. Thank you Peter for being  a part of so many childhoods, and THANK YOU Larry for the inspiration and your service.
