Severe thunderstorms moved through northern Kansas on Tuesday and there were reports of rotation with a storm in Graham County, triggering a tornado warning that was later extended into Rooks County.

More storms developed and moved across Barton, McPherson, Marion and Chase counties.   Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for storms that had quarter to tennis ball sized hail.

The storms weakened as they moved into south central Kansas, but a gust front ahead of the storms brought strong winds and blowing dust conditions to the Wichita area.  Some heavy rain moved through Harvey and Butler counties as the line of storms tracked southeast.  A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Sedgwick, Butler, Cowley, Sumner and Chautauqua counties because of the wind gusts up to 60 mph with the line of storms.

Crews in Wichita were called to help someone who was trapped in a home after a tree fell on it in the 1200 block of North Forest, in a neighborhood near 13th Street North and River Boulevard.   The resident was not hurt.  Evergy crews were called to the scene to deal with a downed power pole.   There was another report of a downed tree in the 400 block of East 15th Street North.
