Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors U.S. Army Veteran Karmen Allen and the organization Habitat for Humanity. It’s no secret that things cost more these day, that includes construction materials. This, you can imagine, makes it hard for the organization Habitat For Humanity to do what it is is they do. However, they continue to do it thanks to great community partners. In Colorado Springs, Habitat helped Karmen Allen, and built her a new home. Local partners and national partners, like the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, helped with the roof. In fact, they have helped more than 400 military members with roofs since 2016. Karmen wasn’t available for comment, but her soon-to-be neighbor said the house is needed. “I think her and her boys deserve this,” said neighbor Monya Collins. “It’s very comforting to know that they’ll be safe.” Thank you Habitat For Humanity and THANK YOU Karmen for your service.
