The City of Wichita has announced a new director for Botanica, The Wichita Gardens.

Dawn Hewitt has more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit agencies, and most recently she served as the Director of Operations for the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas.   She previously managed special events at the Blanton Museum of Art and she was an adjunct professor of art at Austin Community College.   She has a Master’s degree in Art History with a focus on museum studies from Texas Christian University.

Hewitt will begin work on July 10th.  She takes over for Marty Miller, who retired last year.
