Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Sally Orange. Sally has done something that not many have. At 48-years-old, she has become the first British Veteran and only the 5th British woman to finish the World Marathon Challenge. Sally ran 183 miles (295km) in 168 hours with 68 of those hours spent in the air, which was the only opportunity to sleep. That’s right, 7 continents, 7 marathons in 7 days. She did all of this running while dressed as fruits and vegetables to make people smile but to also battle her depression and bring awareness to the struggles of Veterans. Sally said depression can make others feel uncomfortable, but people can still go on and achieve. During the challenge she raised over $10,000 for mental health charities. Congratulations on this incredible achievement Sally and THANK YOU for your service.
