An arctic cold system brought colder temperatures with bitterly cold wind chills to Kansas on Sunday.

High temperatures in the single digits were expected in northwest Kansas with teens and 20s across the rest of the state.  Wind chill advisories are in effect Monday evening through Tuesday morning with wind chills as low as -15 to -20 expected in western and central areas of the state.

Monday’s highs will stay in the low 20s in south central Kansas and they will reach the upper 20s for Tuesday.  Temperatures the rest of the week will be above freezing, and they’ll approach 50 later in the week.

Some snow flurries were expected into Monday, but no significant precipitation is in the forecast through the week.
