A 16-year-old boy died from his injuries after a shooting in South Wichita Friday evening. Another teenage boy was arrested in connection to the shooting.

Wichita Police said Seaquori Smith of Wichita was shot in the 2200 block of South Millwood St. (near Pawnee and Seneca) around 8:30 p.m. He was found with a single gunshot wound to his upper body by responding officers. Smith was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators learned that Smith was with the 15-year-old suspect in the the residence. Police claim the 15-year-old was “recklessly manipulating a firearm” when the single shot was fired that hit Smith.
