Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Jake “Papa Jake” Larson. Jake is a World War II veteran who served on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Jake entered the military when he enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard in 1938, only getting in because he lied about his age by 3 years. Over the years Jake has published a book, raised a family, been celebrated on stage by the Zac Brown Band, and now keeping with the times, he is a Tiktok star. Jake uses the platform because he believes it’s important to preserve his stories and the history that surrounds them. Thank you Papa Jake for your stories and THANK YOU for your service.
