A 21 year old woman was arrested in Finney County after her infant suffered a suspected drug overdose.
Just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Finney County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home at 6005 E. Skyline Drive in Garden City after receiving a report of an unresponsive child. Authorities arrived to find the infant barely breathing on the floor. The child was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital.
Deputies noticed drugs and drug paraphernalia in the home and were later granted a search warrant. During the search, deputies recovered roughly 5500 counterfeit pills which tested presumptively positive for fentanyl, nearly 60 grams of suspected marijuana, THC products and several items of drug paraphernalia.
The infant’s mother was arrested and booked into the Finney County Jail for Aggravated Child Endangerment, Fentanyl and Marijuana Distribution and other charges.
The Finney County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the infant’s father, 20-year-old Carlos Rascon, who they believe to be connected to the case.
