Police in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, have confirmed eight deaths after a house fire Thursday.

The police department issued a statement on Facebook:

The Broken Arrow Police Department can confirm 8 dead at a house in the 400 block of S Hickory Ave. BAPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. It is a complex scene given the state of the house due to the fire damage. This remains under investigation. We do not currently believe there is an immediate threat to the public.

Agents of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were on the scene, and the case is being investigated as a homicide at this time.

More details are expected at a news conference Friday.

Broken Arrow is a community of almost 99,000 population, and it’s considered the largest suburb of Tulsa.
