Veterans with artistic talent are invited to participate in the 2022 Veteran Art Show, to be held at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center on August 11 and 12. This year, Veterans can once again compete in the divisions of art, creative writing, music, dance, and drama for its upcoming Veteran Art Show.
Deadlines for entries are July 25 for the music, dance, and drama divisions, and July 29 for creative writing and art. Veterans may submit up to four entries per division, including one “just for show.” To be eligible for competition, entries must have been created after October 2021. Division rules and registration forms are available online at the Dole VA website.
Participants must be enrolled with Dole VA and must have an appointment to register and drop off work. The top three entries in each category will advance to the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival in Saint Louis, Mo., next spring.
Due to social-distancing requirements, the show will not be open to the public again this year.
Creative Arts Therapy helps to reduce depression, anxiety, and stress, and is a vital component of a patient’s treatment plan.
