Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump and the mother of his three eldest children, is dead.

The 73-year-old was found dead by police Thursday afternoon inside her New York City apartment.

The Trump family said “Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country.” Ivana was part of New York City society while married to Trump and was in the tabloid headlines after he had an affair with Marla Maples, who ended up being his second wife after their divorce.

The former President announced her death on his social media platform Truth Social. Trump said her pride and joy were her three children Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. He wrote Ivana passed away at her New York City home. She married Trump in 1977 and divorced in 1992. Trump said “she was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”
