Police in Garden City are warning that fake cash is making its way around town.
There have been 16 reports of fake cash being used in June, and that number is expected to rise with spending tied to the 4th of July.
A couple examples of fake bills were shared, and officials are pointing out they don’t have the usual translucent seals. The security ribbon on the $100 bill is printed on, and both bills appear to have been cut by hand.
Police are urging you to inspect bills you’re given and to use a currency pen if possible.
