Two people are dead after a head-on crash near Haysville. It was reported around 9:45 Thursday morning on 63rd Street South east of Seneca.
Sedgwick County deputies said a minivan was being driven west at a high speed and when it went over the railroad tracks, it became airborne and hit an eastbound car head-on. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch. Deputies said the van also struck a pickup, but the people in the truck were not hurt.
The driver of the minivan is identified as 33-year-old Justin Newby of Derby. The woman in the car that was hit is identified as 91-year-old Ramona Blizzard, of Wichita. Both people died at the scene.
Witnesses reported that the minivan was going over 100 miles an hour at the time of the crash.
