A Wichita woman was killed early Thursday in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 135 in the north part of the city.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said 58-year-old Robin Buckman was driving a Ford Ranger pickup northbound in the southbound lanes of I-135. Her pickup collided with a northbound truck just before 6 a.m. near 53rd Street North. Buckman was killed and the other driver, a 31-year-old Valley Center man, had minor injuries.
The interstate was closed in both directions for several hours after the crash. Northbound lanes reopened after a short time but the southbound lanes were not opened until later in the morning.
