A Wichita man died after his car went into the Arkansas River in south Wichita.   The accident was reported around 9:15 a.m. on McLean, just south of Pawnee.

The car was partially submerged in the river, and crews got the driver out within a few minutes.  He was identified as 58-year-old Christopher Cotter.  He was taken to a hospital in very critical condition but was pronounced dead a short time later.
