Country singer Jeff Carson has passed away at the age of 58. He died on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 from a reported heart attack.
Jeff was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on December 16th, 1963. His birth name was Jeffrey Lee Herndon. Like many country music singers, he got his start in church. After moving to Nashville, he became an accomplished demo singer. Those demo songs went on to be cut by acts like Diamond Rio, Tracy Byrd, Reba, Tracey Lawrence, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hil. This led to his own record deal.
Jeff placed 19 songs on the charts before retiring in 2009 and then entering law enforcement. He joined the Franklin Police Department in Williamson County, Tennessee. He was still serving when he passed. Jeff Carson is survived by his wife, son, mother, brother, and sister.
It is reported that Jeff had been working on an album of duets that was scheduled for release later this year. It included songs with Michael Ray, and Craig Morgan among others. We hope we get to hear it.
His first album was released in 1995. It included the #1 hit “Not On Your Love.” Also, “The Car” which won ACM Video of The Year.
