Wesley Medical Clarifies Visitor Policy After Social Media Post

Despite a post made to Wesley Healthcare’s social media channels early Tuesday, the health system’s visitation policy has not changed at this time. The hospital continues to allow one visitor per patient. Their social media pages have been corrected and updated. Wesley clarified its original Facebook post that said its no visitor policy only applied to the Wesley Healthcare Continental Division’s Denver hospitals. It does not apply to Wichita.

The incorrect post was made in error by HCA’s Continental Division office in Denver, as hospitals in that market shifted to a no-visitor policy to address rising COVID-19 infection rates. Wesley Healthcare is part of the Continental Division, and the new rules were mistakenly posted across all division hospital social media accounts, including Wesley’s.

The current Wesley Healthcare visitation policy allows for one visitor, per patient, with the following notes and exceptions:

  •  No visitors under 12 years of age are allowed to enter the facility.
  •  Visiting hours are 6 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
  •  No visitors are allowed in the ER, with the exception of one parent or guardian for infants and pediatric patients up to 18 years of age.
  •  No more than two visitors at one time, per patient, for Neonatal ICU (NICU), all inpatient pediatric units, Labor and Delivery/Birth Care Suites and 5 Womens (Mom/Baby).
  • Two visitors to NICU and inpatient pediatric units are limited to parents/guardians or one parent/guardian and one support person as selected by the parent/guardian.

Labor and Delivery/Birth Care Suites and 5 Womens (Mom/Baby) visitors are limited to birth partner and family member only.

  •  Visitors with cold/flu symptoms or a pending COVID-19 test are not allowed to enter the facility.
  •  One support person for patients with disabilities or impairments needing assistance.
  •  Please refrain from gathering in common areas around the facility.
  • Patients, visitors and staff MUST wear a mask at all times.
