Hutchinson Community College won a state title in the first football game ever played at Wichita’s new Riverfront Stadium on Sunday.
The Hutchinson Blue Dragons defeated the Garden City Broncbusters, 49-19, to win the title for the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
The game attracted 2,120 fans to Riverfront Stadium.
Hutchinson finished the season with an 8-2 record, 5-2 in the conference. Garden City ended the season 7-3, 5-2 in conference play.
