Charity Blackmon, the 31 year old woman accused of shooting a man in northeast Wichita then running him over on March 26th, 2021, is now back in the Sedgwick County Jail.

Blackmon is charged with first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection to the death of 54 year old Merril Rebus. She was initially held on a $250,000 bond, but had posted bail on July 1st.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said Blackmon was taken into custody after violating the conditions of her bond, which has now been raised to $800,000.

Blackmon allegedly shot and ran over Rebus while he was on his bicycle at the intersection of 13th and Oliver.

Blackmon was in court last week for a preliminary hearing. The court heard witness testimony, but the hearing was continued until Oct. 18, when another witness is set to testify.
