The Reno County Sheriff’s Office identified two men killed in an August 27th double homicide as 56-year-old Marion Edward Bates and 58-year-old Phillip Duane Anstine.
It was reported that a man’s body was found on August 26th in after deputies responded to a welfare check. Deputies later discovered a second body on the property in eastern Reno County.
Kyle V. Hardwick was named as a person of interest in the case, and was taken into custody on Sept. 1st by Maize Police and turned over to Reno County authorities.
Hardwick was booked into the Reno County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and felony theft.
