Police are asking for help from the public in finding a man who sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in a northwest Wichita neighborhood.
Officers were called to the area of 20th Street North and Shelton on Tuesday afternoon. A woman told them that she had been walking along a bike path near 18th and Arkansas when a man approached, showed her a handgun and then grabbed at her. She was able to push the man away and run to a nearby business for help. Police said she was not injured.
The suspect was described as a white male around 6 feet tall, with a slender build, blue eyes, acne scars on his face, a red full beard and mustache. He was wearing a camo jacket, black sweats and dirty light brown work boots.
