Saline County officials have identified the woman who was found dead in a creek near Interstate 70 in 1986.  She became known as “Miss Molly.”

Sheriff Roger Soldan said the woman was identified as 28-year-old Robin Ann Green of Los Angeles, California.  He said she was last seen on December 28, 1985 with her husband Michael, who died in 2007.     Soldan said they owned a home in California, but family members reported that the house had been seized in a drug investigation.

Sheriff Soldan said family members asked not to be identified at this time, but they were in Saline County last week to visit the grave site.   With the history surrounding “Miss Molly,” the family decided to leave her remains in Saline County and they will make arrangements for a monument with her name on it.

Soldan said this is still an open homicide investigation, and detectives are still working to track down and interview people Green had been associated with.  It’s not known how she ended up in Kansas, but Soldan said she had been to Minnesota to visit family members and that’s where she was last seen.   She was never listed as a missing person.
