The Kansas State Fair Board has scheduled a meeting to reconsider its earlier decision to go ahead with this year’s fair in Hutchinson.
Staff is expected to recommend canceling the fair because some vendors have pulled out, citing concerns over the coronavirus. That’s raising concerns over finances that will be needed to put on the fair. It would be the first time the fair has been canceled in over 100 years.
Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas have already canceled their state fairs because of coronavirus concerns.
The Fair Board will meet on Monday.
