On Friday, Governor Kelly will be signing an official proclamation in the Governor’s Ceremonial Office that would declare June 19th, 2020 as “Juneteenth National Freedom Day” in the state of Kansas.
She said that Juneteenth is not only a celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States, but a reminder that the struggle for justice is not yet over.
