Save Century II announced they have gathered more than 12,000 signatures in support of saving the Century II building.

12,554 signatures are needed to get the issue on the ballot and give voters the final say in November. With that goal in sight, the group set a new goal of 14,000 signatures by the end of June. The signatures are scheduled to be delivered to City Hall on July 10.

A recent Save Century II newsletter provided a timeline of upcoming events:

• June 20: Saturday 12:00 p.m. – Voter Rally at City Hall
• July 9: Thursday 12:00 p.m. – Voter Rally at City Hall
• July 10: Friday TBA – Signatures walked over to City Hall
• July 13: Monday 2 p.m. – Wichita Historic Preservation Board votes on Century II nomination to the Register of Historic Kansas Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
• August 1: Saturday TBA – Kansas Historic Site Board of Review votes on Century II nomination to the Register of Historic Kansas Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
