Actor Ken Osmond, best known for playing Eddie Haskell on tv’s “Leave It to Beaver” has died.
Variety reports Osmond died Monday morning in Los Angeles, surrounded by family. He was 76 years old.
A cause of death was not listed for Osmond. His former partner at the Los Angeles Police Department reported to Variety that Osmond was suffering from respiratory issues.
Osmond was cast as Eddie Haskell as friend older brother Wally Cleaver, and often time trouble maker for the show’s namesake Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver. The show ran for six seasons from 1957 to 1963.
Osmond continued acting, but eventually joined the LAPD in the 70’s, retiring in 1988. He also appeared for the 6 season revival of the “New Leave It to Beaver” show which ran from 1983 to 1989.
Osmond is survived by his wife Sandra and sons Christian and Eric.
