Don Hall, whose voice could be heard on Wichita’s airwaves for over 45 years, has died.
Hall was killed in a car crash that happened around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kellogg and Rock Road. Hall was turning on to Rock Road when his car was “t-boned” by a vehicle that was running a red light, according to Wichita Police.
Police believe that driver may have been impaired.
Hall, an Overland Park native, spent over four decades on the the air in Wichita. He began his radio career during his college years at Pittsburg State working at KSEK, followed by two years at Hutchinson’s KWBW.
His career in Wichita began in 1974 at KEYN where he would eventually return. From KEYN, Hall moved to KAKZ, then KKRD where he remained for many years before moving KZSN, and then finally back to KEYN where he did mornings with co-host Barbara Baan.
In addition to radio, Hall was the arena voice for Wichita State University basketball. In his spare time he supported local charities and served as an American Legion Rider and rode with the Kansas Patriot Guard.
Funeral services for Hall are pending.

One driver was killed in a crash on eastbound Kellogg Drive, at Rock, early Wednesday.
This crash happened around 4:30 a.m. and involved two cars. The driver who died has been identified only as person in their 70’s. Police believe another driver was under the influence and ran a red light, hitting the 70-year-old’s car.
Injuries to the second driver were described as potentially serious. There has not been an update on their condition yet.
