Portions of Interstate 135 and 235 will be affected by construction work for the weekend.
Southbound I-135 will have the left and center lanes closed from 21st Street North to 1st Street. Crews will be working on pavement patching and repairs to expansion joints. The lanes should reopen by 6 a.m. Monday.
The 21st Street on ramp to southbound I-135 will be closed through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19th.
Northbound I-235 and eastbound K-96 between Meridian and Broadway will be completely closed Saturday so crews can realign traffic lanes. Portable message boards will direct drivers to a detour.
On Monday, the right lane of southbound I-135 from 21st to the 8th-9th Street exit will be closed for repairs to expansion joints. The right lane will remain closed through Wednesday morning.
Another project Monday will close the right lane of westbound K-96 west of Hillside, and the westbound K-96 ramp to northbound I-135 will be closed, as crews work on pavement repairs. If the repairs go as planned, the right lane and westbound ramp will reopen and crews will then close the left lane of westbound K-96 and the westbound K-96 ramp to southbound I-135. The work is expected to take most of the day Monday.
