Textron Aviation said Tuesday it is putting a return-to-work plan in motion for employees of Plant 3, which was heavily damaged by an explosion on December 27th.

Employees are encouraged to check with a helpline at 316-517-5252, and also the InfoHub.txtav.com web site for information on returning to work before Thursday, January 2nd.

The company is taking a phased-in approach to bring employees back to work with an emphasis on safety, building access and manufacturing priorities.   A company spokesperson said in some cases, workers may be temporarily reassigned to other areas of the complex where help is needed.

The company said it’s making a priority of continued care and support for the employees who were injured, and help to other workers who were impacted.  The company is also working to determine the structural integrity of the building, and ensuring the safety and security of employees.   The company is also working with all investigations into the cause of the explosion.

There were 15 people injured in the blast, which happened when a liquid nitrogen line ruptured.  One person was still hospitalized in fair condition, and the others have been treated and released.
