It’s the first day of school in Goddard and students can expect some new things.

Director of Community Relations at Goddard Public Schools, Dane Baxa, says, “One of the new things our students, parents, and teachers can expect is that they are going to have 3,150 new Chromebooks out among the district and every student will have access to brand new English curriculum in the classroom.”

Baxa explains they chose this particular textbook along with the Chromebooks to give students the best preparation for the future. Baxa says, “What we did is we looked at, ‘what would be the very best devices that we could put on our students’ hands to get them prepared for their careers?’ Just looking at what they would be doing when they graduate, this was the best decision we could make for our students.”

The new textbook comes with a technology package that expands upon lessons in the book. Baxa says they read the book and then log onto the Chromebook to complete their lessons.
