Sedgwick and surrounding counties are under an areal flood warning at least until 10:30 p.m. Monday. This also impacts most of south-central and southeast Kansas.

Areas have seen between two and five inches of rain with storms that moved through. In the Wichita area, Potwin and Oxford saw the heaviest rain, nearing 5-inches. The Wichita metro has seen about 1-inch.

Standing water and flooded roads are expected in low-lying and usual problem areas. Some county roads have been closed due to water.

River flood warnings for area rivers and creeks continue for at least the next couple days. This includes the Ninnescah, Arkansas, Little Arkansas, Walnut, and Whitewater rivers. People living near the rivers may experience flooding and road closures are expected. More flood statement from the National Weather Service can be found here. Area Flood Warnings

More rain is possible Sunday night, which may cause more flooding issues. So far, it looks like we may get a break from the rain tomorrow.
